Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President of People and Culture, ViaSat, Inc.
Melinda Kimbro is the Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President of People and Culture for ViaSat, Inc. In her role, Melinda oversees global people strategy and is responsible for the full range of global human capital functions, as well as diversity and inclusion, people analytics, employer brand, employee communication, and corporate social responsibility. Melinda is proud to have been an integral part of the company’s growth from approximately 500 employees to over 5,500 employees today, in over 40 countries around the world. Since joining Viasat 18+ years ago, Melinda has led teams in over 15 acquisitions, established flagship leadership programs, and she is passionate about building long-term employee engagement in order to drive business results.
Prior to joining Viasat Melinda held positions in corporate training and organizational development at Sony Electronics and Qualcomm Personal Electronics, and she taught courses as an adjunct faculty member for the School of Communication at San Diego State University. Melinda is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the San Diego Museum of Art.
Melinda earned Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Speech Communication from San Diego State University, where she was also an active competitor on the university’s speech and debate team.
